Meownyrn Catbot VRChat Avatar
NOTE: The V1.0 Catbot is a pre-PhysBones avatar that uses Dynamic Bones instead of VRChat's custom system. The PhysBone update is being slowly worked on and V2.0 is on hiatus.
Children's stories tell of an advanced civilization of cat people that ruled over all of Meownyr long ago. Their floating sky castles traveled the world bringing peace and prosperity wherever they went; until, one day they disappeared. Some claim that their castles are hidden away in the clouds and their loyal robot servants await the return of their masters. But, these are nothing more than child's stories... or are they?
Description:
Introducing the Meownyrn Catbots, an original robotic furry species created for VRChat. The avatar comes in three tiers: Base, Advanced, and Complete. Each tier includes more default colors or accessories, but the Base version is still great for retexturing or creating your own fursona (or robo-sona?)! You can try out the avatar in VRChat at the link below.

Note on Advanced/Complete Version:
- Contains two subversion of the avatar
- "_Text" Versions: Includes the customizable text object for sign and collar. Due to VRChat parameter limitations, some base toggles were removed from the VRChat prefab. These version may reduce VRChat CPU frame-time performance in some fringe cases. By default due to VRChat parameter memory limits, the sign can be customized inside VRChat, while collar is only customizable inside Unity.
- "_Optimized" versions: No text object. Includes all base toggles. Recommended version for most users.
Requirements:
- PC capable of uploading VRChat avatars via Unity. Larger packages (i.e. complete version) may take several minutes to import into Unity. This is normal, please be patient. The assets include 8K textures, but it is recommended to set textures to 4K for VRChat uploads.
- Dynamic Bone script by Will Hong from the Unity Asset Store. Alternatively, the dynamic bone and collider scripts can be removed from the armature to upload to VRChat without purchasing the script separately.
Note on Updates and Support:
- There will be no major updates to the avatar for the foreseeable future due personal life requirements.
- Bug fixes will be very slow. Please ask questions in the the Discord sever. I will do my best to answer questions in batches when I have time. Please allow >7 days for responses. Other community members may be able to help you in the meantime.

02 Uploading to VRChat:

https://youtu.be/rRAnDMUbWt8 - Official VRChat YouTube video on uploading avatars. Skip to the the 8:30 mark for how to upload an avatar after importing the dynamic bone script, avatar package, and opening the avatar scene. -
03 Recolor the Avatar via Gimp File:
Hide/show chosen texture map (body or face). Change the color of layers to adjust colors of different segments; masks are used so that the layer colors only one section at a time. Hide/show UV layers for help. Use Gimp's tools to recolor if desired. Photoshop/SubstancePainter/Adobe/etc. conversion is not supported as I do not have access to the software at this time.

04 Unity Setup:
Video below explains the basics of how the avatar was setup in Unity with a focus on the animator layers. This is intended for experienced users. It is not recommended to change the animator layers for most users.

Planned Updates:
- Version 2.0 with the updated visor and rounder portions. The style will be closer to the Meownyrn Cat and Catgen. V2.0 will be launched alongside V1.0.
Licensing:
By purchasing this avatar package, you agree to the following:
- You may edit and upload the assets to social platforms (i.e. VRChat or Neos VR) for personal use as a private non-clonable avatar. At this time, only VRChat is officially supported. You are reasonable for making sure your uploads meet the Terms of Service for the platform.
- You may retexture or modify the assets for commissions as long as all parties have purchased the original assets.
- You may sell original accessories (i.e. hoodies, hats, etc.) for the avatar as long as the accessories do not include the original assets.
- You may not remove the watermark from inside the chest of the avatar, or claim the assets as your original creation. For retextured or modified avatars, you may modify the watermark to include your credits as well. Please note that the watermark is setup to be locally hidden for the avatar wearer in VRChat via the "IsLocal" parameter.
- You may not re-sell, trade, or redistribute any part of the assets.
- You may not use the assets for political campaigns. You may make adult edits of the assets, but please use responsibly.
- You may not use the assets for commercial purposes. You may use the assets as a personal avatar/mascot for video content (i.e. such as VTubing on YouTube/Twitch).
Known "bugs" ("Features" of VRChat):
- Other VRChat users would sometimes see the eyes look in different directions. This bug appears to be now fixed client side. If you see this bug, please contact me and try the fixes here: https://youtu.be/gzO4nEbUoFE
- The feet are slightly in the ground when using IK 1.0 Full Body Tracking (FBT) in VRChat. Adjust the view point in Unity, or adjust the height settings in VRChat, to reduce the issues caused by VRChat's FBT system. (This is true for most avatars in VRChat.)
Disclaimer: The catbot is not a protogen, toaster, or vacuum. I am not liable for sucking power if used as a vacuum. Do not shake. Keep charged; batteries not included. [/end humor]
